This gorgeous bit of verdant parkland is our backyard, brought to you courtesy of Himself, whom I’m considering renaming He-Man, and our new Fiskars reel mower.

Not an ounce of gas has been consumed this year in the mowing of the garden, and Himself reports that it hasn’t even been overly taxing, but does represent a goodly amount of exercise, both cardio and strength.

I’m fully expecting that at the end of the summer, he will be sporting Popeye-sized forearms …. we’ll have to get the Boy to start designing a suitable tattoo.

Did I mention it’s quiet? Sooooo quiet.

Yes, I guess you could consider this a spontaneous, and enthusiastic endorsement.

A little ditty for you, explaining my OP&C comment. It’s a Steve Martin thing from his Let’s Get Small album (remember albums?), and it will help if you visualize him singing it with his banjo, bunny ears, and arrow through the head:

a visit to the specialist

Madam has been experiencing some unnerving symptoms lately and was referred to a neurologist.

Given the two-month wait before his first available appointment, I had PLENTY of time to convince myself that I had Parkinson’s Disease and resign myself to my fate.

After a thorough examination, the specialist assures me that I do NOT have Parkinson’s nor is anything wrong with me neurologically. Thank you and goodbye.

Whew. I’ll just go back to “walking it off”, shall I?

But, wait! This is the best part…..

Early in the exam, M. Doctor said he was going to say three words, and have me repeat them back to him now, and that he would ask me again later.

“Apple. Table. Octopus.”

“Apple. Table. Octopus.”, I parroted back promptly when asked the first time.

A couple of tests later, I realize I no longer remember those three stupid words.

Gone.

Fortunately, he never asked.
