let there be light

Had the electricians over yesterday, bringing the house (electrically) into the 21st century. Turns out that what was optimistically termed 100amp service when I bought the house was actually closer to 70amps…. which would probably be fine if we used candles and an icebox, but was sadly inadequate for a modern home with a plethora of electrical goodies.

So they brought us 200amp service…

…and it was GOOD.

When power was restored yesterday evening, everything seemed much brighter. I hadn’t realized that we had probably been living in perpetual brown-out conditions.

Maybe I’ll now lose that permanent furrow in the middle of my forehead from squinting.
