First Gia, now Roo

Woke up this morning to the news that IBM is losing another one of its web 2.0 stars, THE Roo Reynolds, who is moving on to be Portfolio Executive for Social Media at the BBC.

My first reaction was: “Yay for Roo!”, followed closely by “WAAAAAAHHHHH!”

As when Gia Lyons left, I am incredibly happy for him and sad for IBM.

Roo’s passion, energy, innovative thinking and enthusiasm will be greatly missed, but the wonderful thing about social media is the way we’ll be able to remain connected. I, for one, will continue to follow his adventures avidly through his blog and Twitter.

Keep an eye on this guy. You’ll be hearing more from him.

(Yes, I’ve written about Roo once or twice before on this blog.)
