Say hi to my latest quilt rescue … a quilt top found languishing at my local consignment shop. A Double Irish Chain scrap quilt in mainly tan, blue and ivory tones. This is another quilt that appears to have some history behind it, as some of the blocks are hand-pieced, while others are machine pieced.

Being on a bit of a conservation tear myself lately, I will be “shopping in my closet” and putting a back together with stuff from my stash. I’ve definitely got enough batting.

I then envision many lovely evenings this winter curled up under it while I hand-quilt it.

And next winter.

And the next.

  1. my mother has been making a patchwork quilt since I was seven! I am now thirty six. I belief it is an infinity quilt and that it will just spool on and on into an ever expanding universe, never quite reaching completion.
