Especially to the Colonel, pictured here with me and Poopyhead Jones, on a lovely Easter morning oh so many years ago.
Thanks for all you’ve taught me:
– old-skool manners, to say “Yes, please” and “No, thank you”, to identify myself when on the phone, the value of a firm handshake
– Yankee thrift and ingenuity. Fix it, don’t throw it away. Repurpose it. Use everything to its fullest. Going to the dump doesn’t necessarily mean returning empty-handed.
– the joys of travelling
– a love of books and reading
and most importantly,
– that the Air Force lives MUCH better than the Army.
I love you, Dad!
